IGeL- Information and learning offer for the design of hybrid teaching/learning scenarios

IGeL is a cross-sectional project in the EhLSa university project, which is funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education in the period 2021-2025.

IGeL stands for "Information and learning offer for the design of hybrid teaching/learning scenarios" and aims to develop a modular digital offer that provides university lecturers and tutors with an insight into the possibilities of designing digitally supported teaching.

Based on a needs analysis of the target group, topics such as "inverted classroom", "self-directed learning" and "video design" are addressed in individual learning modules. All modules include information on the (media) didactic background, technical tips for implementation, practical exercises as well as templates and decision-making aids for implementation in your own teaching. In addition, examples of good practice from various specialist contexts are intended to provide participants with clear support in finding ideas for their own teaching.

The modular offer is primarily designed as a digital self-learning offer and expands the further education and training program for teachers and tutors implemented by the Academic Staff Development Office at the University of Wuppertal. In order to reflect on the content of the self-learning offer, the modules are interlinked with synchronous accompanying events; this also enables recognition within the framework of the certificate programs of the Academic Staff Development Office.

Participation in surveys for the scientific research accompanying the project

Four of the learning modules that have already been implemented are currently being used for scientific surveys. These are available in a separate Moodle course for this purpose.

The course is also available to external interested parties (via Shibboleth) and can be used for scientific surveys until 31.03.2024. If required, all participants will receive a certificate of participation in the course after the survey. Participants from the University of Wuppertal have the option of having the individual modules credited towards the SaPe certificates ZHD and ZDI after attending a supplementary synchronous workshop.

If you are interested in the further training and participation in the accompanying scientific surveys, please contact Lea Gehlhaar (lea.gehlhaar-hk[at]uni-wuppertal.de). She will add you to the corresponding Moodle course. If you have any questions about the study or the course content, please contact Alina Zumbruch (zumbruch[at]uni-wuppertal.de). If you have not yet registered in the Moodle of the University of Wuppertal, please register there first (https://moodle.uni-wuppertal.de/).

Upcoming workshops in the certificate program of the Service Center for Academic Staff Development

In spring 2024, the workshop program of the Service Agency for Academic Personnel Development (SaPe) includes four offers from the project, each of which comprises a self-study unit in the course and a synchronous reflection event based on it. These can each be credited with 8 AE for the ZDI and ZHD certificates. The following topics are offered:

Past workshops in the certificate program of the Service Center for Academic Staff Development

As part of the "Feedback in digitally supported teaching" and "Collaborative work in digitally supported teaching" offers in the workshop program of the Service Agency for Academic Personnel Development (SaPe), initial project results were tested in a blended learning format and feedback was obtained from learners as part of the synchronous accompanying events.
